Happy 2014, We're Back and better than ever!

Hello All,

Welcome back, sorry for the 2 week hiatus for the holidays, but now that the weather has (hopefully) settled a bit and our life routines are getting back into place, we will pick up right where we left off. 

Of course, naturally, that means that we will get right back into it with a brew pub and a local favorite bar to start with 3 Brasseurs near McGill College (on St. Catherine) and Grumpy's on Bishop (block over from Crescent).  For the regulars it will be a great way to welcome each other back, and for the new members who made us their new year's resolution (there should be many more of you!), we look forward to having our running/drinking family back together.

End of Running Season, check the sideboard for new details

So looking at Wednesday's weather I'm gonna go ahead and officially call it now........we have hit the end of running season.

We are now simply the Montreal Beer Drinkers (name can be tweaked), meaning that we will simply be meeting at our destination bars at 8:30 rather than running at 7. Destinations to come tonight.

FYI people, it's also CASH ONLY for the BEER, it's a strange place where the food and beer are technically two separate businesses, therefore we get two bills for the end of the night.

Post Marathon Celebration, good luck to those running tomorrow!

Hello Everyone,

Don't let the sun and temperature fool you, it's still beer running season

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a little while but we've just been having too much fun with the weather.  Yes, it's cooling off and the sun is starting to come down a bit earlier, but we still have ideal conditions for our beer runs, even if the terraces are starting to close up.  We still have some of the best bars in the city to hit before the weather takes its true turn, so c'mon out to Hurley's Wednesday and join in on the fun.

Special Thursday Run with Fishtown Beer Runners

So I am very excited to announce that some members of the original beer runners, the Fishtown Beer Runners, will be joining us in Montreal for Labor  Day weekend.  As a result, we have organized an additional special run Thursday evening for the whole group to join up and mingle.  It's also a great way to burn some additional calories and prep for a weekend trip to Chambly for their annual beer festival.  Be on the lookout for an MBR organized trip on the weekend there.

Gonna be a hot one tonight people, make sure to hydrate well BEFORE the run, the after is already a given.  The path tonight will take us on the nicely shaded mountain trail, so it won't be too terrible.

New in Montreal? Come meet some new people the easy way...drinking!

Well it's now a month past the big July 1 move in day, so if you happen to be someone new to Montreal and trying to figure out how to spend the rest of the summer before the hibernation starts to kick in, we're the group for you.  We have seen tremendous growth this summer but certainly are more than happy to keep welcoming newcomers.  August again promises to take us all over the city to some of the best bars in town, and some of the nicest terraces.  We'll see you on Wednesday nights.
